Window Tinting in  George

Things you need to know about window  tinting in George

Q: Will UV film protect my floors?

A: Yes, the sun will damage your laminated, vinyl, carpets or wood floors. The UV window film will reduce the deterioration of your floor coverings. It is much cheaper to install UV protection window film than to replace your laminated, vinyl, carpets or wood floors in George.

Q: Will UV film protect my furniture?

A: Yes, the sun will damage you furniture if it is exposed to direct sun light. Exposed wood, leather or material furniture are damaged due to long term exposure to UV rays and usually change colour. The UV protection will therefore provide protection to the furniture and reduce the deterioration of the furniture in George.

Q: I have window blinds do I need window film?

A: Yes, the first reason is, your window film will increase the lifespan of your blinds because as the added layer of UV protection between the window and blinds provides critical protection. The second reason is that blinds are not that effective in reducing the temperature in a room, adding window film with block-out blinds is the best combination to reduce the temperature in a room. Last the focus is on privacy, during the day you can open all the blinds and still your deserved views with no one able to look in, and at night you drop the blinds for night privacy.

Q: How does the privacy work?

A: During the day, no person will be able to see into the house (depending on the type of window film and the room condition – the total room must be lighter than outside – best is to tint all the window so that the same light comes in the room from all the sides), but at night if the house lights are on, then people will be able to see into the house. In private areas of the house like bedrooms and bathrooms, we do recommend that you install blinds or curtains.

Q: Who cleans the windows before window tinting?

A: We (Window Tinting George) will clean the windows before commencing with tinting, please keep in mind that if you have pets in the house it will be difficult to ensure that there are no hair trapped on the film. We will remove as many hairs as possible but, if you are a pet owner please note that there might be a hair or two between the film and tint, although we do everything in our power go to ensure that it doesn’t happen. We also don’t install tint if there is any active construction on the house due to dust particles in the air.

Q: How to clean windows after it is tinted?

A: Provide 7 days curing time, and then clean the windows normally.

Q: Window rubbers (Seal).

A: The biggest enemy when installing tint is the rubbers on your window,  When the rubbers are installed correctly there are no issues, but in the event that the company installed the rubbers wrong side around or the rubbers are damaged, or even uneven, it will result in a little bit of window exposed. But again we have methods to to mitigate the issue.

Q: How long does the tint last?

A: It all depends on the quality of film and what direction the film face. The quality of film that we install should last more than 10 yeas. The factory, our supplier,  have given us a 6 year guarantee on the products used, but claim that it can last up to 18 years. You can replace film anytime.

Q: Can you tint over Cracked windows

A: Yes, but you will still see the crack.

Q: Will a window crack if tinted

A: No, the film applied will not cause any  cacking.

Q: Installing high tint

A: We (Window Tinting George) have installed tint in houses that is more than 9m high by using scaffolds and ladders. It is always dangerous to install tint and using equipment like ladders and scaffolds. In the event of ladders, we go as far as possible not to scratch the paint or floor in the house.

Q: Is it safe to leave the tinting team at home alone?

A: Yes, we (Window Tinting George) work with high profile clients that trust us completely, but we always ask if you can lockup valuable stuff just to be 100% sure.

Q Can Old & scratched glass effect the tinting process

A: Yes and no, we can still tint the window with the window film, unfortunately sometimes the scratched glass is still visible after the tint. Another note, it is almost impossible for us to scratch the glass, as we use equipment that is designed not to scratch the glass.

Q: Pets in the house while tinting

A: It is not ideal, due to the hair exposure on the tint film during preparation and installation, plus the technicians might loose focus whilst installing the tint.

Q: Is the tint installed on the inside or outside of the window?

A: The window tint is installed on the inside of you house, this ensures that the tint is not effected by the weather and will last much longer.

Q; What can I expect after tinting my windows?
